Amos Albert Tetreault is here!!!!
Born Wednesday, August 25th at 11:03 P.M. at Mt. Sinai Hospital, weighting in at 7lbs. 14oz.
A big thank you to Mark Kehr, Rohan Francis, Mike Robinson, the very supportive staff, and my lifting friends at The Training Room for cheering me on throughout the pregnancy.
Exercise definitely helps both pregnancy and labour. I started working out with Rohan Francis, then Mike Robinson, about a year ago, doing cardio and weights. I happily continued my routine all the way through my pregnancy with some modifications of course, to accommodate the pregnancy. I was at the gym on Monday, August 23, and delivered Amos on Wednesday evening, the 25th.
Although Amos is my 5th baby, this is the 1st pregnancy I have ever been in shape for, and I wish I had have known what a difference it would make with my others. I'm 47 and felt better all the way through than I did when not pregnant when younger. My baby was born in less than 2 hours, start to finish. I did not need drugs, did not tear, or have an episiotomy. Not only do I believe that working out helped my physically, but mentally as well. I felt totally in control and very strong during the delivery. It was truly awesome!
Unless there is a medical reason not to exercise during pregnancy, I strongly urge you ladies who are either expecting already, or considering having a baby, to keep active, and highly recommend The Training Room as the place to do it!
